James S. Almond, vice president for Business Services and assistant treasurer, announced Wednesday that Purchasing Services and Sponsored Program Services have been restructured. As a result, both departments will better support the University’s strategic plan initiatives, he said.
Effective, Sept. 1, Mike Ludwig has new responsibilities as the director of Sponsored Program Services. With more than 20 years experience in Business Services and more than 10 years in SPS, Ludwig will lead the efforts to support continued research growth at the University.
Larry Pherson, who has served nine years as director of Purchasing Services, will continue in that capacity, and he also will support several University strategic initiatives. With this change in responsibilities, Pherson will provide leadership for the strategic development of the University’s procurement systems and processes and support strategic University initiatives.
