Accounts Payable to Host Brown Bag Lunch Series - 12/1/09

The Central Accounts Payable (AP) office announces that its “AP Brown Bag Lunch Series” – an informal, monthly discussion of AP topics – will begin in January. 

The interactive lunchtime event will meet noon to 1 p.m. on the third Wednesday each month in Freehafer.

The series is designed to assist anyone involved in the payables process better understand the many topics related to Accounts Payable. Discussion topics will vary month to month, and sessions will be facilitated by AP managers Gayle Stetler and Karen Morehouse.

The topic and room location in Freehafer will be announced in Business @ Purdue News each month one week prior to the event. Attendees will need only pack their lunch and show up.

Dates and topics of the Brown Bag Lunch Series through June are:
     Jan. 20 – GR/IR
     Feb. 17 – Blocked invoices and out-of-tolerance guidelines
     March 17 – Distributed directs
     April 21 – Best practices, searching for the right vendor, tips & tricks, process questions, clarifications
     May 19 – Vendor history, how to find a check number on a payment, encashment
     June 16 – How to navigate ME23N (purchase order history)
