What is the Business Services Staff Development Program?
The Program is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to launch your career within Business Services at Purdue. You will learn about how the University functions as a business unit, meet key people across the University and gain valuable experience.
How long is the Program and what happens next?
After a successful six months of time in the Program (time frames can vary*), employees will be ready to take on the full responsibility of a professional career in Business Services. This can happen a variety of ways and will be discussed with each participant directly by their mentor.
What makes this Program different than a regular career opening on the Purdue Careers website?
Many career opportunities at the University require that candidates already have experience, which most new graduates do not have. This Program gives new graduates the opportunity to learn, grow and become ready to tackle the responsibilities of a career within Business Services. Selected candidates are full-time, salaried, benefit eligible employees of the University.
What makes a candidate competitive?
We look for candidates who have a knack for business, are strong leaders, value diversity, embrace technology and who are not afraid of a little hard work!
*Candidates must have successful work performance for six months in the Program before they can move out of the Program. Six months is the minimum time frame candidates spend in the Program. Time frames can be longer depending on candidate experience and/or performance and availability of regular staff openings. Accepting a position in the Program does not guarantee employment or placement into a regular staff position.
