Re: Regulations Governing Smoking

 Smoking is prohibited by order of the President in the following areas of the campus of Purdue University:

1. classrooms, student laboratories, student shops, lecture rooms, libraries, and assembly halls,

2. spaces where smoking would add a more than usual hazard,

3. buildings or sections of buildings where smoking is prohibited by the regulations of the State Fire Marshal.

Smoking is permitted in other areas of the campus except as regulated by persons in charge of the building or area of the building and approved by the Director of Physical Plant.

It is requested that all faculty and staff cooperate in observing these regulations and request their observance by the students. The observance of these regulations is particularly important as smoking is not only hazardous to the property, but annoying to many individuals.
