The Sheet Metal and Welding Shops' role is to fabricate and install HVAC ductwork , build stairs, catwalks, handrails, etc. on the West Lafayette campus including the airport and farms.

They perform the layout, fabrication and installation of stainless steel, metal cabinetry and sinks. The shop also has the ability to fabricate and install door frames, perform equipment repairs, safety and security cages, and performs welding repairs for steam, chilled water, and air piping.

The department consists of one supervisor, two crew chiefs, 11 sheet metal workers and 4 welders.
