The Electrical Shop is responsible for the maintenance and installations of all University owned secondary electrical systems, various security and alarm life support systems. The Electric Shops consists of one supervisor, two crew chiefs and ten journeyman electricians

The shop performs stewardship tasks on all major electrical secondary switchgear and motor control centers, numerous emergency backup generators and emergency AC battery back-up units (EMAC), and airport runway and beacon lighting. Maintenance of these units is scheduled and tracked through the utilization of MAXIMO preventative maintenance tracking software.

The Electric Shop also performs electrical construction & maintenance on all University secondary electrical systems, electric motors, lighting systems, control circuits and transformers. The department responds to service calls, provides trouble shooting, repairs and renovates and modifies existing electrical systems.
