WELCOME!

Welcome to the 49th Annual Big Ten & Friends Building Services Administrators' Conference and Purdue University!

Efficiency, Sustainability,
and Conservation

The theme for this year's conference, “Efficiency, Sustainability and Conservation,” reflects critical issues many of us are already facing. More and more education administrators are among those pushing us to use sustainable strategies to operate our facilities. Students concerned about the environment are providing an impetus to get our schools to adopt green practices. At the same time, advancements in technology are giving us more tools to achieve higher levels of sustainability while reducing the environmental impact our facilities have on the communities around them. Recognizing these challenges we've planned a program this year that focuses on reducing, reusing and recycling.

Topics Include

  • Bio-augmentation & Bio-renewable chemicals
  • Source reduction
  • Recycled materials
  • EPA's Tools For Schools (TfS) Program
  • Conservation technologies & equipment
  • Green Seal certified products – GS37, GS40 & GS41
  • LEEDS-EB Registration and Certification
  • LEEDS costs & benefits
  • LEED-EB web-cast training
  • More ways we can create cleaner, safer, healthier facilities

Learn From The Experts

Including..
Steve Ashkin, the highly respected Chairman of the federal government's Task Force Standard Guide on Stewardship for Cleaning Commercial and Institutional Buildings, will present “The Destination of Green for 2007."

Frank Trevisani, contributing author to Services magazine, will discuss "The Evolution of Green and BioRenewables.”

Mike Fabian, Business Technologies Manager with Spartan, will discuss Maintenance Management software.

John Reed, Director of Training for Betco will review the LEED certification process.

And More!

Equipment manufacturers, including Advance, Clarke, NuSource, and Windsor, will showcase product lines that conserve resources, reduce detergents and increase safety. EcoQuest will set up an on-site mobile laboratory to demonstrate innovations for healthy living that they've developed from NASA technologies.

Come explore topics that bear directly on your positions as Building Services professionals. Schools are public buildings that can be around for 100 years or longer. Our efforts today are an investment for tomorrow. Whether you come for information, to visit our beautiful campus, or to renew professional friendships, you don't want to miss out on this opportunity.
