A "grande école" of public health

The EHESP was created by the Public Health Act of 2004 to provide France with an outstanding, internationally recognized School of Public Health. The EHESP School of Public Health is a leading public sector scientific, cultural and professional institution under the authority of the French Ministries of Health, Welfare, Higher Education and Research.

The EHESP has four missions:

  • to provide initial training for senior public sector managers and inspectors in the health and welfare services;
  • to provide higher education in public health, in close partnership with other institutions;
  • to contribute to research in public health;
  • to promote international relations, in particular through exchanges with similar educational institutions.

Education for careers in public health and welfare services
EHESP offers training for senior management in health and welfare services, in a national and
international context :

  • 14 training programs for healthcare professionals
  • Masters, advanced master, engineering and doctoral degrees
  • A comprehensive selection of professional development and lifelong learning courses.

Education and research in public health

  • 6 education and research departments
  • 1 environmental health research laboratory (LERES)
  • 6 interdisciplinary cross-functional research centers
