Student Trustee Application and Selection
One of the ten members of the Board of Trustees is a full-time student at Purdue. He or she may be an undergraduate or graduate student on the West Lafayette, Calumet, IPFW, or North Central campus. The student trustee is the student representative to the Board of Trustees, serves on the Board's Academic Affairs Committee and Physical Facilities Committee, and has an equal vote on all actions taken by the Board.
The Office of the Vice Provost for Student Life oversees the application and interview process. A selection committee interviews each applicant and selects ten finalists to be interviewed by the Governor. The Governor then selects the student trustee from the ten finalists and appoints him or her to serve a two-year term.
The term of our current student trustee, Cameron Mann, ends on June 30, 2017. The next student will be appointed to the Board by the Governor of Indiana on or about July 1, 2017.
