Student Trustee Application and Selection
One of our ten trustees is a full-time student at Purdue. He or she may be an undergraduate or graduate student on the West Lafayette, Calumet, IPFW, or North Central campus. The student trustee is the voice of the student body, serves on the Board's Academic Affairs Committee and Physical Facilities Committee, and has an equal vote on all actions taken by the Board.
The Office of the Dean of Students facilitates the application and interview process. A selection committee interviews each applicant and selects ten finalists to be interviewed by the Governor. The Governor then selects the student trustee from the ten finalists and appoints him or her to serve a two-year term.
The term of our current student trustee, Miranda McCormack, ends on June 30, 2013. The next student will be appointed to the Board by Governor Pence on or about July 1, 2013. The process for selecting the student trustee for the 2013-2015 term is well underway and the application window has closed. However, you are welcome to view the application that the candidates submitted. Dowload application here.
