A senior in the College of Agriculture, Jill L. Steiner was
appointed by Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels to serve on the
board as a student trustee from July 1, 2007, to June 30, 2009,
replacing Rachel Cumberbatch.
Steiner, who grew up on a family farm in Adams County, is
active in several student organizations at Purdue, including
serving as the president of Purdue Foundation Student Board.
She’s also involved with the Old Master’s Central Committee, Agricultural Ambassadors, Agricultural Council, Agriculture
Communicators of Tomorrow (ACT), and was a member of the 2005–06
Patty and Martin Jischke Leadership Class. She is currently a member of the 2008-2009 Mortar Board Class and is treasurer of Glenwood Cooperative House.
For the past two summers, Steiner has interned with Monsanto, a global agricultural company first as a Field Sales Intern and then a Marketing Intern for her second summer. In the summer of 2006, she was the manager of the Indiana
State Fair Country Market and an intern for the Indiana FFA
Foundation, helping develop curriculum for leadership conferences.
A 10-year member of 4-H and former Junior Leaders president,
Steiner has earned numerous awards and honors related to agriculture.
She was a recipient of the FFA American Degree, the organization’s
highest membership level, as well as an FFA National Scholarship.
Upon graduating from Purdue in Spring 2009, Steiner will begin her career with Monsanto as a Field Sales Trainee in Ohio working towards the position of Account Manager.
