Guidant Foundation
Reaching Out to the Community

Guidant believes in giving back to the communities where we have employees and to charitable and educational programs that fulfill its philanthropic mission. To that end, Guidant Corporation established the Guidant Foundation in 1995. The foundation is a separate, nonprofit charitable organization supported by contributions from Guidant Corporation.

Each year, the foundation helps improve our communities through corporate and employee donations of time and money. Whether it's a small grant that brings books to a local elementary school or a larger donation that funds development of a patient education website, the Guidant Foundation is making a difference. In 2004, Guidant Foundation giving totaled $15.412 million.

The foundation awards grants in the areas of education, health care, and community services. Funding is awarded through three programs: National Programs, Local Giving, and Employee Programs.
