Salaheddin Sommakia is a 2nd year doctoral student in the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering, where his research focuses on strategies to improve the biocompatibility of neuroprosthetic devices. He previously earned a Masters degree in biomedical engineering from Rutgers University, and a Bachelors degree in computer engineering from the University of Aleppo in Syria. His interests have morphed over the past few years from web development to medical devices, especially long-term implants. He hopes to use to his diverse technical and laboratory skills to pursue a career in the development of implantable medical devices. |
