A working meeting was held on November 12th at 7pm to discuss planning for next semester's activities, speakers, outreach activities, and Spring Fest. In addition, Dr. Joe Kappock, from the Biochemistry Department, spoke briefly at the onset of the meeting to discuss a project for which he received a grant from the National Science Foundation. He has to run experiments of finding different bacteria in the soil that can break down different food coloring dyes with students. The NSF wants him to run the activity with undergraduate students, and the Biochemistry Club was suggested by Dr. Henderson. He outlined the process of experiments that would take place, and officers and members very enthusiastically received his ideas. This project would occur next semester, beginning around March.
