Greetings!  On behalf of the executive committee and members of the Black Caucus of Faculty and Staff, I welcome you to our website.  It is my pleasure to serve again as Caucus Chair.  I thank the former chairs, executive committee members, committee chairs, and all volunteers for their service to our organization.  In particular, I would like to recognize outgoing executive committee members:  Stephen David, chair; Jason Hall, vice-chair; Veronica Rahim, secretary; and Zenephia Evans, parliamentarian.

I would also like to thank the incoming and continuing executive committee members and committee chairs for volunteering their time and talents for the 2013-2014 academic year.  The Caucus has been a strong presence at Purdue University since 1975, and I am excited to enter our 38th year, working to promote the welfare of black faculty, staff, and students.  The reason that we have stood strong for so long is that we have committed people working tirelessly for the good of this organization and our community.

We are growing in numbers and if we pool our strengths, we can take the Caucus to the next level of excellence.  We need your support!  Please consider being an active part of the Caucus by taking out a membership and participating in our socials, meetings, and programs.  We seek to pool our experiential resources and be a source of information and support for those new to Purdue.  We need to form a strong network of knowledge and experience to form that sturdy black bridge for others to cross over on.  We look forward to your participation in our Welcome Back Barbecue, Monthly Meetings, First Friday Socials, Holiday Card Party & Dance, Black History Month Soul Food Dinner, 39th Annual Student Awards Program, Reception with Upper Administration, and other events.
