Featuring the New Directional Players

The coffee house will feature tow one act plays. Both plays deal with jutice and
brutality (or lack of justice). One of the plays is called "Motherhood 2000" by
Adrienne Kennedy. It explores a mother's quest for justice after witnessing the
brutal beating of her son after he is stopped for a malfunctioning taillight.
The second play, "Sunday Morning in the South", by Georgia Douglas Johnson,
examines the South of old.

Discovering African American St. Louis
Museum Trip
Pre-Registration Deadline February 21, 2003
Visit the Black World History Museum and the Missouri Historical Society and learn more
about historical figures such as Dred Scott, Katherine Dunham, and the contributors of
many African Americans to the city of St. Louis. Participate in a tour of the city and
visit African American sites that have been ignored, overlooked, and unrecorded until
now. Registration: $50/students, $100/general public.

Haraka Fest

The Haraka Writers are committed to literary expression of the Black experience. Through
essays, prose, poetry and shories, they stive to reinforce the essential bonds that
give hope and strength to people.
