 The Soul of Cleveland Tour

 A two day visit
 Cleveland has a rich African American history and heritage which is evident throughout the city and is an abundant source of pride and spirit. The Soul Tour of Cleveland will include a visit to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame & Museum where you will learn about the numerous contributions of Black Musicians. You will also tour the E.E.P. Creative Arts Complex and meet master artist and educator, Edward Parker. The afternoon will conclude with a lunch with Purdue Alumni from the Cleveland area.

Registration and Full Payment due by Friday, February 6th

Cost: $100 - General Public $35 - Purdue Students

(Includes: Transportation, Lodging, Admission Fees and Lunch)

 A mid-semester production featuring the BCC Performing Art Ensemble including the Black Voices of Inspiration, Haraka Writers, New Directional Players and Jahari Dance Troupe

 Rock, Rhythm & Soul: The Black Roots of Popular Music
 8:00am - 10:00pm 23 March 2009 @ Black Cultural Center Formal Lounge
 Continues every weekday until April 24th
 The exhibit was produced by the Indiana University Archives of African American Music and consists of topical banners on various themes and genres in African American Music including - Soul, Funk, Gospel, Rhythm & Blues and Hip Hop. Rock, Rhythm & Soul explores the pioneering role of Black Musicians and their impact on the ever changing landscape of the popular music industry. The banners contain stunning images, text highlight central issues and personalities and time line of historic events.
