Monday, December 3, 2007
The Purdue “All-American” Marching Band and the Boilermaker football team are heading to the Motor City Bowl in Detroit, marking the 10th time in Coach Tiller’s 11 years at Purdue that the Boilers have been bowl-bound in December.
The game – to be played in Detroit’s roofed Ford Field, a state-of-the-art facility - will take place at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26. The Boilers opponent is MAC champion Central Michigan, a team Purdue beat on Band Day, Sept. 15.
The band will bus to Detroit, leaving at 6 a.m. from Elliott Hall on Dec. 26.
Plans are underway for a pep session prior to the game. Band members will stay all night in Detroit and leave the Motor City for West Lafayette at 9 a.m. Dec. 27. A full itinerary will be posted on the web site as soon as it is available.
