“Evening of Romance” moves to University Inn

The Purdue Jazz Band’s popular Valentine cabaret, “Evening of Romance,” is moving to a new location in 2007 to accommodate crowd demand, says M.T. “Mo” Trout, jazz band director.

The candlelit event features live jazz for dancing and listening with a dessert buffet at intermission. A cash bar is available.

Held for many years at the Holiday Inn City Centre in Lafayette, the event, set for Friday, Feb. 16, in 2007, will move to the larger ballroom at the University Inn in West Lafayette. The new location means less crowding, tables not jammed up against the band and more room to dance, Trout says.

As an enticement to follow the event, tickets are being offered at $17.50 per person through Feb. 1 at the Purdue box offices, (765) 494-3933. At that time the tickets will go up to $19.50.
