1967 Rose Bowl DVD now on sale
August 29th, 2006
Beginning with Purdue’s Sept. 2 “Throwback Game” and continuing throughout the fall, Purdue Bands will be selling a commemorative DVD that offers video highlights of the “All-American” Marching Band’s trip to the 1967 Rose Bowl.
Along with the pregame show and Al Wright’s famous circus show, the DVD offers glimpses of band boarding the train to California, highlights of various parades along the way - including the rupture caused in the big bass drumhead by artic temperatures in Denver - among other nostalgic moments.
Third Floor Productions in Elliott Hall has done an excellent job of transferring old and, in some cases, deteriorating video tapes onto a DVD that will allow these precious moments to delight future generations of band members.
The DVDs are $10 each. They will be available at the Slayter “Thrill on the Hill” concerts before every home game and can also be purchased in the main band office in Elliott or through this website. For ordering information, go to the Merchandise section.
