Campbell and Hood named drum majors for 2006-07

Two veteran “All-American” Marching Band members - Dan Campbell of Mishawake, IN and Steven Hood of Brentwood, TN - topped stiff competition on April 28 to be named drum majors for the 2006-07 season. They will lead the first band under the direction of Prof. Jay S. Gephart, named in March to succeed retiring director Dr. David Leppla.

Dan Campbell, a Senior majoring in Elementary Education, came out of the trombone ranks. Steven Hood, a Junior majoring in Computer Science, marched in the trumpet section. The two will begin their duties during Band Camp in August. Their selection completes the spring leadership selection process for Purdue University Bands. Here’s a rundown of all the new leaders!
