GABS members among the first to greet Coach Versyp

Four members of Gold & Black Sound Pep Band were among the first to greet Purdue's new women's basketball coach Sharon Versyp when she arrived on campus Monday, April 10. Shortly before the formal press conference introducing her to media and the fans, Sharon took time to meet (left to right) Jon Rexeisen, Melissa Fulford, Jon Barnhouse and Katie Worden. They made her an honorary member of GABS by giving her a pep band jersey and a Big Bass Drum beanie. Later, in a moment captured by photographers and plastered across the next day's newspapers, Coach Versyp enthusiastically waved her drum beanie in the air to punctuate a point.
