Vanessa Castagna and Jim Wallace recognized by Purdue Bands Castagna, a 1971 Purdue graduate and former twirler with the AAMB, was presented the Alumni Achievement Award. Castagna has worked in management positions with several major retail chains and now serves as Executive Vice Presidnet, Chairman and CEO of JCPenney Stores, Catalog and Internet Sales. Wallace, a retired Wells Fargo Bank executive from California, was presented the Block P Award for his support of the band. Wallace maintains a photo web site www.purduebandfan.com of marching band photos and has been a generous donor to the department, sponsoring many projects for the marching band and its auxiliaries, most recently the Golden Girl 50 th Anniversary Poster. |

Purdue University Bands’ top recognition awards were presented at the Purdue vs.Michigan game, Oct. 23, to Vanessa Dingledine Castagna, of Dallas, TX, and Jim Wallace of Gold River, CA.
