Kathy Payne retires after 30 years with Purdue Bands

Kathy Payne & Jayne Giesler at the 2002 Sun Bowl in El Paso, TexasWith the retirement of Bands secretary Kathy Payne, and the move by our account clerk Jayne Giesler to the Purdue Development Office, there are some empty desks around Purdue Bands this summer.

Kathy, who will marry Bill Moore at the end of June, is planning a move to his home in Noblesville. She has subsequently opted for early retirement and we wish her the best of luck as she opens a new chapter of her life. Kathy worked for 30 years in the Bands’ central office and was honored at a special campus-wide celebration for long time employees in the Purdue Memorial Union last fall. If you want to send Kathy a note, address it to her at 1161 Southlea Drive, Lafayette 47905.

Jayne, who had worked in the bands account department for the past two years, got lured away by Murray Blackwelder’s Development Office, an active place these days at Purdue. We wish her luck too.
