DETAILS ON APPLYING
FOR A LEATH SCHOLARSHIP
Wilbur T. Leath, a former bandsman from Fountain County, Ind., left Purdue University Bands a trust fund for the purpose of providing scholarships for students in the band and orchestra. The scholarships - valued at $1,000 - are available to incoming Purdue students for the period of one year and carry the following criteria: The recipient:
Auditions are held on February 9th, 2013. An application form is below. Return to the Bands office as soon as possible. Audition slots are assigned on a first-come basis; requests will be honored in order of application. Audition material should include two two-octave major scales and a prepared selection from the ISSMA group I solo list. Jazz students should request audition materials from Purdue University (765-494-0770) to perform in addition to the group I solo. (Time limit: 6 minutes) Piano accompaniment will not be allowed.
