![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() About Us ![]() The Golduster Dance Team has a deeply-rooted history due to a strong connection with the Purdue “All-American” Marching Band. As an entertainment-based ensemble, the team perform alongside the “All-American” Marching Band at all home football games, one or two annual away football games and at postseason bowl games. A typical football game day consists of a morning practice, a pep rally performance before the game, a stadium pregame show, the halftime feature, a postgame performance on the field and a final show in front of Hovde Hall. Thus, the dancers keep themselves busy! Along with pregame and halftime performances, the Goldusters are visible throughout the game with sideline dancing. In addition to football games, the team can be seen in various indoor venues, such as Purdue volleyball and women’s and men’s basketball games. Additional special performances within the past several years include the Parade of Roses, the Capital One Bowl, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, a feature show in Downtown Disney, local high schools, stage performances and the Indianapolis 500 Parade and Race. The dancers are also looking forward to performing in Ireland for the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade in March 2013! Members of the team are required to attend all practices and performances. During the fall, the Goldusters practice five days a week for two hours. In the spring, practices take place three mornings each week. Daily practices include conditioning, stretching, technical development and choreography. All members of the team earn academic credit for their work. The dance team performs a variety of genres with pom and jazz being the predominant styles. Involvement as a member of the Purdue Golduster Dance Team is a fun way to entertain through a love of dance. It is also a great way to meet new friends who share a similar passion. If you are interested in auditioning for the team, please refer to the “Contact Us” page. We hope to hear from you soon! |
