Past jobs/life situations that have contributed to the richness of my life: After leaving Purdue I continued to perform with the Los Angeles Lakers as a Laker Girl/baton twirler..another great experiences. Having children has enriched my life in such a way as I can't begin to describe.
Hobbies/passions that I enjoy: Theater and dance; watching my sons play baseball and watching my daughter dance!
What made/makes the Golden Girl position so special: The "World Famous" status of the Golden Girl makes it extremely special. The opportunity to represent and perform with the incredible "All-American" Marching Band is the foremost reason for this status! While GG, I felt part of a huge family. Traveling to Colombia, Venezuela, Japan, the Peach Bowl (to name a few), sharing music, was an opportunity I would not have had otherwise. Representing Purdue was such an honor. I am most thankful for my experiences and wonderful memories!
How being Golden Girl has shaped/impacted my life beyond Purdue:Performing as Golden Girl gave me an opportunity to act as an ambassador of the university. I learned how to act as an ambassador of the university. I learned how to interact with a variety of people and many personalities. It also gave me a confidence in myself that has helped me throughout my life. I also formed some very strong friendships with some of the other twirlers and band members that are as strong today as they were then.
Favorite memories from being Golden Girl: One of my favorite photos from our wedding album is the "Block" P we formed at our reception!
Performing "Pinball Wizard" at halftime, and dancing the jitterbug to "In the Mood" at halftime.
I have many fond memories of our South American trips and bullring performances!
