Members of the Records & Recruiting (R&R) Office are enthusiastic and organized supporters of the band program. For many potential band members, they are the face of Purdue Bands. Travel and recruitment opportunities include Purdue admissions fairs, Indiana high school music events and prospective student outreach. Records and Recruiting officers also actively assist the Public Relations Director in promoting band events in both the Purdue and Greater Lafayette communities including the Purdue Jazz Festival. As the records office for the band, officers not only maintain band records but are also responsible for distributing certain awards and rank insignia to band members. In addition to opportunities to improve your public speaking and marketing skills, being a member of this office also offers the chance to develop more personal connections with the band faculty and staff as well as fellow band members. Perhaps the best part of Records and Recruiting is hearing the “Hey, I know you!” from a band member new to Purdue.
