Tutorial/Academic Mentor Program

Employment / Prospective Tutors & Mentors

Welcome to the Jane P. Beering Athletic Academic Learning Center for Student Athletes tutor/mentor program. This website has been created to acquaint you with the important aspects of tutoring as well as to educate you on policies and procedures of working with student-athletes at Purdue University .

Tutors are academic role models who provide an important service to student-athletes and Purdue Athletics. Tutor skills benefit the student-athletes when working on content-specific material and study strategies. They are often the primary communication link between the tutor/mentor program staff and the student-athletes as it relates to their course progress. It is important for our tutors to fine-tune the skills that will be necessary to maintain this open dialogue in an effort to maximize tutoring skills and enhance those skills of our student-athletes. We will work together to develop an atmosphere that is conducive to academic success and to personal growth.

It is our pleasure to welcome you to the tutoring Program. We hope you will make use of our online resources to make this experience a rewarding one.
