Mackey Arena Renovation
Purdue University's Mackey Arena Renovation project is designed to complement the historic basketball venue as well as benefit each of the University's 500+ student-athletes. Improvements to the 40-year-old home of the Boilermakers will include upgraded arena seating, ticket office and other amenities for fans. It also provides an opportunity to bring the academic, athletic and training facilities into one complex to benefit the needs of all our student-athletes. The scheduled completion of the project is 2011-12.
The private fundraising goal for the Mackey Arena Renovation campaign is $32M of the $99.5M total project cost. Because the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is self-supporting and receives no tax dollars, the remainder of the funding will come from increased concession and premium seating revenue as well as income generated from the Big Ten Network and other conference television income.
