Resources for Student-Athletes -- Tutoring Opportunities
Tutors are available to assist students in their coursework. Academic support services staff trains tutors.All sessions must be held in academic support areas within the athletic department facilities.
Academic Support Services staff can work with coaches and student-athletes to assign academic mentors, if necessary.
To request a mentor contact your sport advisor.
Student-athletes are encouraged to form study groups and may use any of the study areas within the academic learning center.
There are several survey courses where group tutoring is beneficial. After enrollment the academic support staff will review those courses and see if a group tutoring session would be appropriate.
Math walk-in tutors are located in the IAF on Sunday through Thursday evenings from 6-10 pm. These tutors are available on a first come, first served basis for any student-athlete who is experiencing difficulty in math.
Chemistry walk-in tutors are located in the IAF on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7:30 – 10 p.m. This service is offered on a first come, first served basis for any student-athlete needing assistance with any chemistry courses offered at Purdue University.
The English walk-in tutor is located in IAF on several evenings from 7:00-10 p.m. This service is offered on a first come, first served basis for any student-athlete needing assistance with papers and writing projects
Our library holds resource books related to Purdue’s academic departments, career development, job search techniques and job outlook reports. Purdue University Libraries
Study Table is fully monitored six days a week to provide a quiet and controlled environment for study. Hours for monitored study table in the IAF are: Monday – Thursday from 8 a.m. to 10:30pm, Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 10:30 p.m.
A 74-station computer lab is located in the IAF. This lab is staffed and maintained by the Information Technology at Purdue (ITaP) staff.
Specialized tutoring coordinated through the Academic Success Center in Beering Hall. SI offers weekly study sessions for students taking "historically" difficult courses.
