JOB ORDER CONTRACTING

JOC Staff | 2008 JOC Contract | 2011 JOC Contract

Job order contracting (JOC) is a procurement method for construction projects which generates speed by letting project design and cost proposal development occur simultaneously with one contractor. The goal of JOC projects is to reach the construction phase within 90 days.

Purdue's current JOC contractors are Olsen Construction & Management and Centennial Contractors Enterprises Inc.

JOC is best suited for small to medium repair jobs, new construction, and renovation valued at less than $750,000. It works particularly well for Repair
& Rehabilitation (R&R) projects, such as mechanical equipment upgrades and lab or classroom renovations, because of their well-defined scope.
