Project ID: 8660

Website Status Update

The functions previously performed by the Office of the University Architect (OUA) are now addressed by Physical and Capital Planning (P&CP), Project Management and Construction (PM&C), and Energy and Engineering Services (EES). The P&CP website is available here.  The Energy and Engineering Services website is available here. A new PM&C website is currently under development, however, essential information will be maintained in this location until the new website is launched. Thank you for your patience as these enhancements are completed.

Client: Office of the University Architect

Scope: This project will use the design-build process to replace the failed curtain wall system on the east and west elevations of Young Hall. The current facade has a long history of leaks, and all attemps to correct the problem have had only a short impact and the water that infiltrates the curtain wall system just migrates to another location. The design-build process will be utilized in this project to ensure a design that is cost effective, aesthetically pleasing, and of minimal impact on building occupants.

Project information : This is a Repair and Rehabilitation Project.

Note: Access to Young Hall is temporarily limited due to the re-cladding project. Pedestrians needing ground-level entry to Young may access the building via the underground passages from PMU and area parking garages.

For vehicles arriving to Young Hall traveling southbound on Grant Street, temporary accessible parking is located at the lower level parking garage west of Young Hall (entrance off Wood St.) or the Wood Street Garage (across street).

  • Individuals who wish to use the accessible entrances are advised to enter the building via the ramp at the south entrance of Young Hall or the underground tunnel system.  The tunnel may be accessed from the Wood Street Parking Garage, Rawls, Krannert, or PMU.
  • Accessible parking is available in the surface lot west of Dauch Alumni Center and temporary accessible parking is available on the ground level of the Wood Street garage.
  • One van accessible space is available on the lower level of the parking area behind Young Hall.
  • Accessible visitor parking (no permit required) is available in the Grant Street parking garage.
