Website Status Update
The functions previously performed by the Office of the University Architect (OUA) are now addressed by Physical and Capital Planning (P&CP), Project Management and Construction (PM&C), and Energy and Engineering Services (EES). The P&CP website is available here. The Energy and Engineering Services website is available here. A new PM&C website is currently under development, however, essential information will be maintained in this location until the new website is launched. General Information
Client: College of Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Department
Scope:
This project will construct an 84,500 GSF addition on the southwest exposure of the existing Mechanical Engineering building. The addition will house a 120-seat classroom, teaching labs, instructional space, breakout spaces for the Prototype Engineering And Realization Lab (PEARL), faculty and graduate student offices, a graduate and an undergraduate commons, research labs, and a tech-atrium. The addition also will be designed to be the University's first LEED-certified building.

The construction traffic route to the site is from State Street through Centennial Mall. Concrete barriers have been placed to divide the traffic route from the pedestrian route. Pedestrians are asked to use the west side of the mall (near Stanley Coulter).

near the construction area.

- Activities Scheduled for next two weeks:
- Footer installation
- Foundation wall installation
- Installation of sanitary and storm pre-cast sumps
- Damp-proofing foundation wall
- Backfill
- Underslab plumbing
- PLEASE NOTE: Steel deliveries are expected to start the week of October 12. This will involve longer semi-trailer trucks, two arriving each morning and two each afternoon. This will be in addition to the ongoing concrete truck and occasional dump truck traffic.
