Project Information:  Beginning Monday March 9, 2009 you will see more work being done in conjunction with the Mackey Arena renovation and expansion, that may impact your daily routine.

Work will begin on the South Football Practice Field - Excavation will begin on the south football practice field that includes scraping off and re-using the topsoil from that field, for the new natural grass field north of the Mollenkopf Building. It will also include removal of the old "dummy shed", where originally, football tackling dummies were stored. (More recently it has been used as a Sports Med Trainer's storage building). This is the small brick building at the Southwest corner of that practice field, next to the Mollenkopf Bldg.

Work directly outside the Mackey Arena South wall- Work will begin for removal of an old underground fuel storage tank on the south side of Mackey Arena, between the outer Arena wall and the raised Lilac bed (at the edge of G-lot parking lot) between Mackey and Lambert Fieldhouse. This work will temporarily eliminate pedestrian and vehicle traffic from traveling around the South side of the Arena on the tarmac.

APRIL 1, 2009 -   A much larger scope of work will begin on the South side of Mackey Arena that will include the blocking off of all of the G-lot parking lot between Mackey Arena and Lambert Field House, and will also include blocking off P-Lot West of Mackey Arena. University Street will remain open. Some areas inside Mackey on the South side of the building will be disrupted and some individuals will be temporarily relocated to other non-impacted areas so they can continue to work. The North three rows of the F-lot parking lot, adjacent to the practice field, will be fenced off and excavated.
