University Committees with APSAC Representation

APSAC is your voice on many university-wide committees, including but not limited to those listed below. Representation changes throughout the year. Please contact APSAC facilitator Carrie Hanson if you have questions about a specific committee.

BICYCLE SAFETY TASK FORCE – Charged with increasing the convenience of bicycling on campus, with a primary focus on bicyclist, motorist, and pedestrian safety.

CAMPUS SAFETY TASK FORCE – Reviews ideas and ways to increase safety on campus.

COMMITTEE FOR SUSTAINABILITY PLANNING & ASSESSMENT – This committee shall set five-year goals to advance the sustainability of the University.

DIVISION OF RECREATIONAL SPORTS ADVISORY BOARD – Assists in the formation of policies; advises regarding changes and new fees.

EUDOXIA GIRARD MARTIN AWARD – Evaluates nominations and selects the recipient based on specific criteria established for the award.

FACULTY COMPENSATION & BENEFITS –Studies the policies relating to both direct and indirect compensation and benefits of the faculty.  The committee reports to the president through the Faculty Affairs Committee and the Senate.

IT STRATEGIC GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE – This committee is charged with instituting an integrated view of the campus IT structure to maximize effectiveness at both the local departmental and institutional enterprise levels.

IT OPERATIONAL OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE – This committee was formed as part of the Purdue University Campus Information Technology Plan (CITP). The OCC focuses on the coordination and collaboration of IT resources across campus. It recommends IT priorities, oversees and endorses Common Good IT Services and endorses IT budget requests. The OOC may also work on special IT initiatives delegated by the IT Strategic Governance Committee (SGC)

PARKING & TRAFFIC COMMITTEE Review of parking and traffic needs and possible solutions in the light of the University’s growth, faculty and student needs, and campus beautification, including regulations for the control of parked vehicles and traffic flow.

REGIONAL CAMPUS APSAC COMMITTEES – Members from each regional campus attending and report the activities of their respective APSAC committees.

RETIREMENT INVESTMENT PLANNING COMMITTEE – Receives updated reports on trends and performance of the investment options.

SPRING FLING – Plans, coordinates, produces, and ensures that the annual Spring Fling event goes according to schedule.

STAFF APPEALS BOARD FOR TRAFFIC REGULATIONS – Hears and determines the disposition of all appeals made to it by staff members on charges of violations of traffic regulations.

STAFF MEMORIAL COMMITTEE – This committee plans the annual staff memorial recognition program.

UNIVERSITY LEAVES COMMITTEE – This committee is studying the complex array of leaves the University provides for employees.

UNIVERSITY POLICIES COMMITTEE – This committee has been established to meet monthly to discuss all policies currently being reviewed for the University (excludes academic policies at this time). 

UNIVERSITY SENATE – This committee is the governing body of the faculty.  It proposes and/or adopts policies, regulations, and procedures to achieve the educational objectives of Purdue and the welfare of those involved.

UNIVERSITY SENATE ADVISORY COMMITTEE – This committee shall meet on call of the chairperson of the Senate, the President, the Board of Trustees, or at the request of any three members of the committee; to advise regarding any matter of concern to the faculty.
