  • The semi-annual submission deadlines are 5:00 p.m. on October 1 and March 1. Should either date fall on a weekend, the deadline will be 5:00 p.m. on the Monday immediately following. Printable applications will become available on the APSAC website six weeks prior to each deadline. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
    • Fall applicants will be notified by mid November. Funds will become available after January 1.
    • Spring applicants will be notified by mid April. Funds will become available after July 1.
  • A/P Staff may apply for reimbursement of professional development costs incurred within a 6-months-prior-to and a 6-months-after time-frame from the date when awarded funds become available (this essentially affords a 12-month window).
  • Applications will be considered confidential.
  • Submission of an application does not guarantee funding.

Reimbursement

  • Requests for reimbursement must be made within six months from the date when the funds become available (January 1 or July 1).
  • Expenses totaling a maximum of $750 will be reimbursed. The evaluation committee reserves the right to adjust individual award amounts in order to provide maximum grant benefit with available funds.
  • Funds may apply to a single event (conference/workshop) or to supplement course work over a one year period. Taxes will not be reimbursed.
  • A grant recipient must prepare a written summary describing how the award was used and submit it with the reimbursement request. All receipts and reimbursement information must be submitted at the same time.
  • The recipient must be a Purdue employee at the time of the development activity and at the time of reimbursement.
  • An award may be taxable. It is the applicant's responsibility to verify the tax status of this award. The tax accountant in Accounting Services (49-47562) can provide assistance.
  • If the recipient requests reimbursement payment from the University, a Form PC must be completed and submitted as a part of the reimbursement process. The recipient must complete Section A and sign Section C of the Form PC.
  • Non-exempt Administrative/Professional staff who participate in professional development outside their scheduled work hours may be eligible for overtime.

Eligibility

  • No more than two persons from any one department or office may receive funding for the same development activity (e.g., conference, workshop, training). Each proposal must be independent of the other.
  • Purdue A/P staff with a status of at least .50 FTE may receive support from this program once every three years.
  • Applicants must work on the West Lafayette campus or an affiliated Extension Office (Regional campus employees are not eligible.).
