The Student Contribution, or SC, is the portion of the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) that is estimated to come from the income and assets of the student. The College Board EFC Calculator result will display the Student Contribution (along with the EFC and Parent Contribution) for dependent students. Record these numbers before returning to the Purdue Financial Aid Estimator for entry. For your information, Purdue University and the State Student Assistance Commission of Indiana ignore the SC in some award calculations; if you do not know the SC, the SC will assumed to be zero and reflect the idea that the dependent student has very little income and assets.
