Expected Family Contribution (EFC)
The Expected Family Contribution (EFC) is a measurement of how much your family may be able to contribute towards paying for college. A calculation using federal methodology will determine your EFC when you file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) based on a federal formula calculation. The EFC helps drive the determination of federal, state, and institutional aid eligibility. The College Board EFC Calculator result shows a Student Contribution (SC), as well as a Parental Contribution (PC) for dependent students as part of an estimated Expected Family Contribution. Record these numbers before returning to the Purdue Financial Aid Estimator for entry.
