Our History
Founded in 1930, the Purdue University Airport was the country’s first university-owned airport and serves as the cornerstone of the university’s long aviation history.
Today, the Purdue University Airport (LAF) serves commercial airline passengers, passenger and cargo charters, and military operators. It is the “largest classroom on campus” for more than 1,000 students in the School of Aviation and Transportation Technology.
