Mathematics Placement

All beginning and new transfer students must take a Mathematics Placement test, called ALEKS (Assessment and Learning in Knowledge Spaces).  ALEKS is online, free, and can be taken from any web-accessible location.

The results from the ALEKS math assessment will be used for placement into Purdue's mathematics courses.  Students who do not score at the level needed for the math course desired can take a free, online self-guided ALEKS Prep Course, along with a re-take of the ALEKS.
