Guidelines for International Students
The Office of International Students and Scholars (ISS) handles international students' applications and makes credit evaluations for coursework taken at non-U.S. universities.
All new international students must report to ISS (Schleman Hall, room 136) upon arrival to Purdue so their data can be submitted to SEVIS.
- SEVIS: Student Exchange Visitor Information System established by the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS).
- Student data must be submitted to SEVIS within 30 days of the student’s first day of classes. Failure to do so will lead to the loss of a student's legal status with no recourse to regain it.
- New international students will not be issued a student ID card from the Card Office until they have reported to ISS.
Students should visit their college/school upon arrival to campus and register the Thursday before fall semester begins.
