NACADA Conference Report
Purdue was well represented at the NACADA annual conference. Six advisors attended and two separate concurrent sessions were presented. Those attending included Sue Aufderheide, Jane Ann Dimitt, Tiffany Mousel, Kay Solomon, Diane Stevenson, and Cara Wetzel. There were also sightings of some former Purdue colleagues in Brad Peters and Jim Mills.
Sue Aufderheide presented a session entitled “Advising IS Teaching”, as well as collaborating with Jane Ann Dimitt, Tiffany Mousel, and Cara Wetzel to present on assessment in advising.
To quote Kay Solomon, “The keyword of the recent NACADA national conference in San Antonio seemed to be “transition.” Sessions abounded about students transitioning from high school to college, transitioning to the sophomore year, transitioning to life after college or advisors transitioning to retirement.”
