Certificate in Entrepreneurship Program Update
The Certificate in Entrepreneurship Program thanks advisors for sharing your hard-working, entrepreneurial students with us. Our instructors are able to keep our courses strong when they are filled with students who are entrepreneurially-minded and looking to add some turbo to their major areas of study.
Since the program was launched in the fall of 2005, over 2000 students have enrolled in at least one ENTR course. To date, 257 certificates have been awarded to students and 70 are scheduled to complete requirements in December 2009. We anticipate a large group of recipients in May 2010. Just as a reminder - in order to complete the Certificate, students need to complete a series of five courses or experiential learning programs, some of which may already be woven in to their major requirements. Check out the Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation website to see specific requirements and information about our program, events, and student entrepreneurs.
This spring we will once again co-sponsor with the Department of Communication, a Women and Leadership, ENTR 470 (3), a course designed to encourage young women to become the entrepreneurs and business leaders of tomorrow. During Maymester 2010, we will offer our fourth Global Entrepreneurship Study Abroad opportunity to Beijing and Shanghai.
We will continue to send information to you about upcoming events and scheduling. Please let us know if you have any suggestions as to how the Certificate could be improved to better meet the needs of your students. We appreciate your input and could not offer this opportunity without you.
