Assistive Technology Center

The Assistive Technology Center (ATC) promotes an accessible information technology infrastructure at Purdue that is usable by all students, faculty, and staff regardless of disability status.

Computers

Information Technology at Purdue (ITaP) has arranged some special offers and prices on the purchase of computers and peripherals. These offers are available to all Purdue students, faculty, and staff.

The Microsoft Campus Agreement (MSCA) allows each eligible Purdue faculty and staff member and each student to use selected software products on one computer he or she owns, for University-related work. On the West Lafayette campus, Microsoft software media may be purchased at the BoilerCopyMaker in Room 157 of the Purdue Memorial Union (PMU).

ResNet system provides access to the campus data network from the off-campus, private residences of students, faculty, and staff via dial-up modems.

Employee Assistance Program

The Employee Assistance Program serves all faculty, staff, retirees, and members of their families, providing a confidential and professional approach to the resolution of personal problems. The EAP's objective is to aid and assist employees to restore them to full productivity.

Enrollment Management Quick Reference Manual

Includes information from the Office of Admissions, Learning Communities, Access and Retention Programs, Orientation and New Student Programs, Office of the Registrar, in addition to the Division of Financial Aid and the Bursar Office.

This site is designed to help academic advisors at Purdue University locate information about Purdue University and the surrounding areas quickly and easily.

IAAN

The Indiana Academic Advising Network (IAAN) is a group of professionals from colleges and universities across the state of Indiana. The organization was formed to foster the personal and professional development of its members. The goal of the organization is to promote communication among its members. By joining IAAN members will get the opportunity to share ideas, learn about new programs, and meet colleagues with similar professional interests and situations. IAAN will also provide to its members additional services, such as professional referrals, job placement information and an in-state resource clearinghouse .

Indiana Commission of Higher Education

Historical reports and statistics for all public colleges in Indiana including retention and financial reports. Legislation summaries are also included. Includes links to all colleges in Indiana.

Influenza Information

Monitor news accounts of developments in the spread of avian influenza.

Human Resource Services dedicates itself to attracting, developing, and retaining valuable people for Purdue's workforce.  

 

Key Academic Advisors at Purdue

Fall 2004 the Head Academic Advisors in collaboration with the Office of the Registrar developed a new Web Page that lists Key Academic Advisors . The advisor information on the site is maintained by a designate in each school, generally the head advisor .

The Mentor

The Mentor: An Academic Advising Journal is a free electronic publication about academic advising in higher education. The goal of this journal (available only on the Web) is to provide a mechanism for the rapid dissemination of new ideas about advising and for ongoing discourse about advising issues.

NACADA

The National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) promotes high quality academic advising in institutions of higher education. Web site includes access to publications, research, advising guidelines, and links to other institutions and Web sites on advising.

PACADA

The Purdue Academic Advising Association (PACADA) the local chapter of NACADA, believes in strengthening and enhancing the educational experience by giving students individual support in integrating the formal education of the classroom and the informal educational opportunities of the University, local, and global communities. The purpose of PACADA is to promote the quality of academic advising at Purdue University, and to this end, it is dedicated to the support and professional growth of academic advising and advisors.

An online service to automatically keep students, parents, and alumni informed of the Purdue news and information they choose.

 

Purdue Faculty Scholarships for Staff

The faculty has created a scholarship fund to support University staff members who want to take courses to enhance their job skills. The first scholarships will be awarded for the Spring 2003 semester and will cover the tuition costs for up to 6 hours of course work. Staff members that are interested in taking a class or classes that will enhance their present job skills or help them with advancement are encouraged to apply.

Purdue Individual, Couple, and Family Therapy Clinic (PICFTC)

The former Purdue Marriage and Family Therapy Center serves Purdue students, faculty and staff with emotional and mental problems. They specialize in marital and family therapy for individuals, couples and families. Fees are set on a sliding scale according to income and family size .

This site is a comprehensive resource designed for students and parents. It has links to specific Web Pages with descriptions and contact information. It includes academic, career, financial and personal links.
