Math Courses

Math 15200

  • Students should have a working knowledge of basic algebra
  • Geared toward students who are not required to complete higher-level math courses
  • Includes financial math as part of the syllabus
  • Companion course (GS) is offered
  • Calculators are not used until after exam 2 (TI-30Xa recommended)

Math 15300

  • Slightly more rigorous than MA 15200
  • Companion course (GS) is offered
  • Only scientific calculators are permitted (TI-30Xa or TI-36 recommended)

Math 15400

  • A trigonometry course taught in large lectures
  • Prerequisites: MA 15300 or at least a B in Math 15200
  • Only scientific calculators are permitted (TI-30Xa required)

Math 15900 (5 credits)

  • Combines concepts from MA 1530 and 15400
  • Algebra portion is more focused on calculus applications
  • Students who did not do well in MA 15300 should NOT be placed in MA 15900
  • Calculators are not used until after exam 2
