Advising Candidates for Graduation

Graduation Requirements

The following are basic graduation requirements:

  1. Completion of the plan of study for the student's major.
  2. Two semesters of resident study at Purdue University and completion of at least 32 semester hours of coursework on at least the junior level.
  3. A cumulative graduation index of 2.0.
  4. Satisfactory knowledge of the English language.
  5. Deans of schools may refuse to accept as credit toward graduation any course that was completed 10 or more years ago. Advisors must make sure they understand their school's policy when they work with transfer and reentry students.
