The bachelor's degree program in nursing prepares students for leadership positions and graduate education for a lifelong career in nursing. Nursing theory, together with clinical skills, prepares students for patient care in medical-surgical, psychosocial, maternal-child health, and public health nursing. Students are prepared to take the NCLEX, which grants licensure as registered nurses (RN).

Nurses are the largest group of healthcare providers in this country, and the need is growing. Job placement has continually been at 100 percent. Once a year, the Purdue Nursing Student Council sponsors the Nursing Career Fair, which draws numerous healthcare employers from different areas of the country.
