Nursing (New priority deadline for fall 2009 enrollment - apply by November 15)
The Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Nursing prepares students for leadership positions and for graduate education for a lifelong career in nursing. Nursing theory, together with clinical skills, prepares students for patient care in medical-surgical, psychosocial, maternal-child health, and public health nursing. Students are prepared to take the NCLEX, which grants licensure as Registered Nurses (RN).
Career Opportunities
Nurses are the largest group of health care providers in this country, and the need is growing. Job placement has continually been at 100%. Once a year, the Purdue Nursing Student Council sponsors the Nursing Career Fair, which draws numerous healthcare employers from different areas of the country.
