Making the BIG Decision
I chose Purdue because of the friendliness of all of the people here, the close-knit campus, and Purdue's reputation for engineering.
How I Got Involved
- Circle K Club - vice president of public relations
- Purdue Diversity Organization - assistant director
- Boiler Gold Rush - team supervisor and leader
- Heart & Soul musical ensemble - Web chairperson and girls specialty trio singer
- Management Information Systems Association
- Women in Business
- Marketing Association
- Society of Minority Managers
- Purduettes
Residence Hall Life
I lived in Harrison Hall my freshman year.
I liked the fact that a bus stop was right
outside, so I would usually ride the bus
to campus, especially in the winter. There
also was a grill right downstairs that I
could go to whenever I was hungry. Because
the residence hall was co-ed on the floors
above me, I met some great guy friends.
Most
Memorable Purdue Experience
I
love the school spirit that surrounds the
student body. I'll also remember Boiler
Gold Rush freshman orientation. I met so
many amazing people, learned about a number
of organizations on campus, and took advantage
of the freedom and independence I had always
longed to reach. In addition, being a part
of the Purdue Diversity Organization has
given me the opportunity to help create
a more diverse campus.
What the Future Holds
I hope to earn a graduate degree in gerontology
at the University of Southern California,
or work full-time at a secure and prestigious
corporation that would allow me to travel
internationally. I want to become the chief
operating officer of a well-reputed corporation
and then become the chief executive officer.
When I retire, I'd like to start an assisted
living home that flies its patients and
residents to various places, including hospitals
and vacation getaways.
