Making the BIG Decision
I was confident Purdue would open many doors for me. I love being independent at college, but Purdue does a great job of leading students. Purdue also offered me many opportunities to get involved and add to my life experiences. I also wanted the Big Ten experience and something close to home.
How I Got Involved
- Old Masters — hostess
- Social Sorority — director of new members
- Emily Mauzy Vogel Sophomore Leadership Development Conference
- Mortar Board leadership conference
- Ski and Snowboard Club
- Greek Intervarsity Bible Study
Residence Hall Life
I lived in Duhme Hall, one of the halls within Windsor Halls. I enjoyed that it was an all-female residence hall. I felt safe and made fantastic friendships. I also liked that is was close to campus. The Windsor complex reminded me of castles, and the underground tunnels were convenient.
Most Memorable Purdue Experience
Being a part of the Old Masters program. When I was chosen as a hostess, there was a five-week preparation period, and when the distinguished alumni arrived, I learned so much and made fantastic connections. Old Masters, I believe, is one of the best things Purdue offers.
What the Future Holds
I hope to be a high school English teacher. I would like to stay in Indiana, but my heart is attached to Colorado. If I lived and worked in Colorado, I would love to be a ski instructor. No matter what career I end up with, I would want to be a wife and raise a family. That is my ultimate goal. |
